Vancouver Airport or How to Occupy Four hours on Two hours of sleep.

Mission: find wireless access, and occupy 4 hours on 2 hours sleep.

We are in the International Departure Cafeteria In the Vancouver Airport. It is raining and overcast, and we are super exhausted. Last night we went to the Opening of Upper Canada Mall, followed by a late dinner (and mad contact lens grab) with My Mom and Mike. This morning, we were up at 4:30 and at the airport for our 7am flight on WestJet. (Stop Number #1 Tim Hortons) Nice flight, the usual WestJet comedy bits like “el-capitano” and such, Some award winning Ringette Team and some Newlyweds. Flight was a $169 seat sale that WestJet is famous for. Charged $5 to the Business Visa for a viewing of Ratatouille, well worth it. Accomplished about an hour or two of work on the plane via laptop and CS3. Off plane, got baggage and (Stop Number #2 Tim Hortons) went to the Fairmount to price Spa treatments for this afternoon. Taking into consideration that we now know how much massages and such are in Thailand, we didn't feel like spending virtually a month in Thai Rent on 2 hours. So, On the quest to find Wi-fi and a plug to juice my computer.

Vancouver airport is incredible. We entered via the domestic arrivals and were faced with Tim Hortons, Swiss Chalet and Harveys. The International Departure Food Selection is MUCH better. There is an incredible number of Asian people here waiting for flights, and the food reflects it. Sushi, Bento, DimSum.. there is even a Starbucks on this side. Should have waited!! And some fantastic art. Can't see much of Vancouver through all the grey, but what we could see flying in was impressive. I think we might spend some time out here on our way home.

Note for Karina, Lots of people traveling with similar sized little-ones in tow. Hint Hint.

Our flight for Hong Kong leaves at 4:30 Vancouver time. Its the once a day commuter flight on Oasis, we paid $299 CAD each plus tax, more for a hindu vegetarian meal and seat selection right behind emergency exits. Came to about $830 or so. Can't wait to see what that gives us. I do, however have a massive Harry Potter book to read and my laptop.

Need to go find someway to occupy hours and hours in the airport. Some guy lived here, you know.. :)
