So, Pai Thailand is supposed to be heaven. Everyone we have met that has gone there has said it is just beautiful and the images we have seen on the internet are just beautiful. So, we decide to pack up and make the 130+km journey on the motorbike and stay for a night or two. We get about half way, or about an hour into the trip from our apartment, just beginning to wind our way up the mountain when the bike makes some loud noise, like a pop. Mikae stops the bike, we look at each other, and decide that we should just go home. We both feel this at the same moment, its time to go back. We have been making an effort to listen to our instincts no matter what. So, we make the trip back to Chiang Mai.
Now, I get this article sent to me by Thai Visa, a forum I subscribe to. So glad we didn't get to Pai, that would have been a rough night. Horrible.
To our mothers. We don't get drunk, go out at night, fight in the streets, or even interact with anybody really. Don't worry, we keep our eyes open, and our wits about us. Still.. I am VERY glad we were not there.

Holy shit, that's fucked. I heard too that an ex-boyfriend of a good friend of mine was killed in a motorcycle accident just a week ago in Thailand too. He was there teaching ESL, and sounds like he was a great guy so it's really sad. So you guys be extra careful there! Kudos on trusting instincts, they're there for a reason :)
